Internet Access

The Dixie Board of County Commissioners is working to improve internet connectivity in our communities. We need your help in gathering data to document our current internet service is not adequate to meet the needs of our schools, medical facilities, telemedicine, businesses, and the everyday needs of our citizens.

Please take a few minutes to access the internet speed test survey below which will create a little dot on a map of Dixie County so we can document where the greatest needs are to improve internet access in our communities.

This map represents all of the the speed test conducted in Dixie County, since the spring of 2022. The more time you conduct tests at your home and work the better our map data will be. Please encourage your family, friends, and neighbors to do the same.

So far your efforts have contributed to over 8 million in federal and state broadband dollars for companies supporting Dixie County to begin laying fiber, installing more towers and overall increasing our broadband capabilities.

Before You Run The Test

• If you are using a phone at home, make sure that you are connected to your WiFi.
• You can run this test as many times as needed. Such as in the morning with good speed and then in the evening with poor speed.
• If you know someone who does not have internet. You can enter their address as no service available.
• You can run this test from your phone around the county by entering the address you are at or using the GPS function on your phone.
